Kenya Climate
Local weather forecast for Kenya
But the climate in Kenya can vary, dramatically, depending on region and altitude. The coast tends to be hot and humid, whereas the rolling plains of Kenya's interior is mainly hot and dry. The climate in the north and north-east region of Kenya is the hottest and driest, resulting in the most arid conditions. It is here that Kenya has suffered drought.
Visitors will experience a vast change in Kenya's climate if travelling to areas such as the Great Rift Valley. The climate in the Central Highlands and western regions of Kenya can be cooler with precipitation (mist or rainfall) occurring throughout most of the year. Higher altitudes bring colder climates, which is why Mount Kenya is usually snow-capped.
